  • Annual Robbie Burns Celebration
    It’s that time again to dust off your kilts, and plaid skirts, as celebrants once again pay tribute to the Scottish bard, Rabbie Burns. The annual celebration takes place at the Eganville Legion on Saturday January 30. At 7:00 pm the haggis will be piped in and addressed. A roast beef dinner, complete with haggis, neeps, and tatties,will then be served. Following dinner, the Burn’s celebration formalities will be performed, and then the ceildh begins with performances by the Renfrew Highland Pipes and Drums , and the Pam Reid Highland dancers, along with many special guest musicians, and entertainers. The stage band will delight the audience with all of their familiar Scottish tunes and songs, as well as backing those who wish to sing their favourite Celtic songs on stage. The night is over by 11:00pm with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne”
    Tickets are $25.00 each and can be picked up at Sears in Eganville, the Eganville Legion (downstairs), Conway’s Pharmacy in Eganville and Cobden, or calling Guy Jamieson at 628-2234 for tickets or information. Dinner tickets must be picked up by Monday January 25. Those who wish to come for just the entertainment can pick up tickets at the door after 8:00pm for $10.00.
    The annual event is a fundraiser, sponsored by the Bonnechere Museum.

  • Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre
    A murder, mystery, dinner theater. Sounds interesting right!? We think so! This event will be held January 30th, 2010 at the Pembroke Legion. The evening will feature a full dinner, wine, a cash bar (What is a cash bar? You’ll just have to come out and see for yourself!), and wonderful entertainment for the evening. Tickets cost 50 dollars and come with a ten 10 dollar tax receipt that must be purchased prior to January 29th, 2010.     Yen-Yen Gee & New Orleans Express w/Pembroke Symphony Orchestra, at the Festival Hall. An afternoon of toe-tapping, Dixie and Swing Music with a show-off piano solo in the middle under the baton of Angus Armstrong. Advance tickets at Box Office 735-2613 Adult $15 Student $8.

  • Fundraiser Dance
    Celebration of Life Fundraiser Dance presented by the Amigos and supported by 96.1 myFM. Half-Cutt and Ghost Town Cryers. Silent Auction. All proceeds to RVH and Hospice Renfrew. Tickets at Bear’s Den, Scotiabank, Dahl’s Convenience, Sandi’s Deli, Biba and of course at the door.

    Are you a local restaurant, food producer or caterer and want to show off your incredible dishes to thousands of patrons? Are you looking to beat the Winter blahs and enjoy some incredible local food? Then mark Saturday January 30 on your calendar as RENFREWLICIOUS will highlight the best of local eateries! Renfrewlicious runs from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and everyone is invited!
    The Bonnechere Manor Foundation and the County of Renfrew are teaming up to bring a unique food exposition to the Renfrew Armouries located on the Renfrew fairgrounds! Similar to the highly successful Taste of the Valley events, Renfrewlicious will feature local producers and businesses. Renfrewlicious is a fundraising event for the Bonnechere Manor Foundation as they continue their efforts to build an Auditorium for the Bonnechere Manor residents and the community.
    Admission is free, and sample food tickets will be on sale for $1.00 to try the local food. All proceeds raised will go towards the Bonnechere Manor Centre Auditorium Campaign. To register your food business for this event, or for more information on Renfrewlicious, please contact:

    Held at the Renfrew Armouries on Saturday, January 30th between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Come out and enjoy 25 different restaurant caterers and food producers food products. Apart from the great food you will enjoy there will also be plenty of activities including snowshoeing, tobogganing, a silent auction, 50/50 draw, and a Senator’s Ticket Raffle. Musical guest Shades of Shean will be there as well showing off his musical expertise.

    “Academia Nuts,” a comedy with a cast of two males and two females. Auditions dates are Sunday, Jan.31 at 2:00 and Monday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 at Sidocks house. Dates for the show are April 29.30 and May 1. Please come out to auditions if you have interest.
